Having trouble with email?

Emails are being bounced because "Relay access denied"

  • Check that you are sending your email to the right domain name (most notably if you have a custom domain name).

  • If you have a custom domain, check that your MX records are configured. This article provides a guide for configuring your domain's MX records.

 

Emails are being bounced because "Permission denied"

  • Check the logs for incoming email. This article covers how to check the logs for email.

  • Check your access control settings to make sure the right users are allowed to post/send mail to the forum. This article goes over mailing list configuration.

Emails are being bounced because "user unknown"

  • Check that the mailing list address you are sending to is correct.

Emails/Posts are appearing in the discussion board, but members of the mailing list are not receiving them.

  • Have your users check their spam filter, or promotions folder (in gmail).
